To audition, please email us at karma.fusionbellydance@gmail.com with a little about your experience, and we will arrange an audition time, give you the audition location, and send you additional information to that below.

We ask that you prepare a 2-5 minute performance for the audition. It can be an original choreography or created by another dancer. We would like to see you dance confidently. Costuming/hair/makeup is not required, but encouraged. Please send your music in a day or two beforehand so we can have it ready for you. 

Please be prepared to share the choreographer and bellydance style of your performance. After you dance, we will have a brief Q&A session with the current Karma members. Questions will be related to your audition piece, dance training, personal interests, etc.

We rehearse in person from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on the first and third Friday of each in Scio Township, accessible by bus. It is expected that dancers attend 75% of rehearsals in a year.

New choreography is taught during rehearsal, however, each dancer is required to learn and practice troupe repertoire outside of rehearsal. Many veteran dancers are excited to meet up and teach troupe repertoire to new dancers. Videos are also available for practice but are not intended as teaching tools.

Dancers take responsibility for selecting, collecting and/or purchasing their own 4 troupe-required costumes. It is not expected that costumes be complete upon membership, they can be acquired over time. Our enthusiastic costume consultants are ready with details, guidelines, and consultation.
